Dungeon Residential Camps, Somewhere, Wednesday, Day Two of Two

At Fandom, the sun reached its highest point in the sky. Down (or was it up?) here in the dungeon, a next day broke, each hour occupying the space of only half. It was only noticeable to those with keen senses, or those who might've kept an eye on the fireplaces: the figurines had switched places again as night changed.

Well. It might have also been noticeable to anyone who'd wandered into a room with a sky and a visible sun.

Cade came in brandishing his shiny new blaster and more than a few bruises.

Stupid karking doors.

"So we're not the only people here," he announced.
whenshewasnice: (Listening at you.)

Natalie had kept close to camp for the previous day or so. Doing useful stuff like keeping an eye on what their array of supplies looked like and things.

Really, she just hadn't wanted to repeat her performance of running for her life on Tuesday. But she looked up at Cade's words – and noticed the blaster while she was at it. "Really?"

Cade nodded. "I ran into the girl with the purple hair," he said. "We were stuck in a room full of really mean luggage. There's another one that has weapons if you're feeling adventurous."
whenshewasnice: (Awaiting your excuses.)

"How bad is the weapon room?" Natalie asked, because the word 'adventurous' seemed to suggest there were obstacles. Of course. "And while you're at it, how likely do you think we are to meet any dangers where a bow and some arrows would even be helpful?"

Since that was all she really knew how to use.

Cade touched the bruise on his face. "It's pretty karking bad," he admitted. "Droids run off of clocks or something. Probably not killable with arrows, and they wouldn't have done any good against karking luggage either."
whenshewasnice: (A place for me.)

"Then I'm not going to bother with it." She supposed she could try and get a knife or something, but. It didn't seem worth it. "Anything in the luggage?"

She wasn't even about to question the concept of 'mean luggage'. She was just going to be practical.

"Nothing useful," Cade said. "I would prefer to wear something not made out of the world's karking itchiest material."
whenshewasnice: (Considerable I guess.)

"A lesson in investing in flannel pajamas, maybe," Natalie replied dryly. "How's your face?"

After her experience in the room with the baggage yesterday, Éponine had only meant to come back to the camp, but she'd ended up blundering into another room instead. All things considered, the two slightly stale loaves of bread because I will never be done making bread jokes with this canon probably hadn't been worth the effort of navigating the abandoned kitchen, mostly because in the center of it was a giant oven (big enough to put a person in, she'd thought) with its door open and occasional gouts of flame shooting out.

That was more than enough to convince her she was absolutely done with the damn dungeon for the day, and she'd come back to get a few hours' sleep. Upon waking, she'd grudgingly decided to leave one of the loaves of bread for others if they wanted to fight over it, and went to put it by the fireplace.

At the very least, she noticed the difference in the figurines on the mantel, since God knew she'd spent enough time staring at them.

"But where's my friend monsieur the moose?" she asked the tiny television. "He hasn't been promoted, has he? Probably just as well I forgot to think of a name for him, then."

"Not as pretty as normal," Cade replied, "but I'll live. Of course, I haven't seen a mirror, so I might be really optimistic."
whenshewasnice: (Without blinking.)

"Let me see."

She got up to come closer and take a look. Mostly to keep herself busy than for any huge concern over his face, honestly.

Cade tilted his head into what passed for the light here. "Least we're not feeling the urge to rip each other's clothes off any more," he said. "Could be the karking shoes..."
whenshewasnice: ([neu] Find perfection.)

"I kicked one of your grandparents in the ribs with these shoes," Natalie shared, peering at his bruise. The best they could do here was check for cuts and clean those, really. "They're growing on me."

By now Maddie was getting frustrated and wanted instructions and a shower and this was stupid.

"Does anyone have anything that gets rid of zombie guts?" she asked. "A Shout stick, something?"

Cade blinked. "Wait, what?"
whenshewasnice: (Did you want something?)

Natalie sighed. "There was a version of Fandom behind one of the doors, the first day. And there was a version of Ender there."

"And you kicked him in the ribs?" Cade still looked confused. "I thought it'd be Ben you'd want to kick. He's really karking obnoxious."
whenshewasnice: (Don't feel like it.)

Re: Camp Two - Fireplace

[personal profile] whenshewasnice 2013-04-10 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, he was a demon or a vampire or something," she retorted, but mildly. Flatly, almost. "And tried to kill me, so I felt it was warranted."

Cade stared at her. "He karking what?!"

"You heard me."

Really now, Cade? Was that such a surprising thing to hear when you were trapped in a random dungeon?

Of course people probably didn't usually sound so cavalier about it, but still.

Re: Camp Two - Fireplace

[identity profile] makemyownway.livejournal.com 2013-04-10 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, it wasn't really Cade's first random dungeon, but normally he knew what he'd done to be stuck in it...

"And you got away." There was a touch--more than a touch--of admiration in his tone. "He had a bit of a reputation."
whenshewasnice: (Brainwork.)

"Luck," Natalie replied dismissively. "Think whatever his paranormal affliction was screwed him over a bit." Once you got focused on biting someone's neck, you stopped paying attention to other things. "Doesn't mean I escaped unscathed, but I'm alive."

It was just that her bruises were all under her clothes.

Okay. Karla allowed herself one day to be a complete and miserable wreck of a person. One day was fair; she'd been kidnapped, woke up naked, discovered she had no Craft, and then got traumatized by revisiting her very first bout of Fandom nightmare fuel and nearly getting eaten by not one but two of her closest friends.

So, yeah, huddling yesterday may not have been the bravest of ideas, but she was calling it justified.

But one day was all she was going to allow herself. Picking through some of the odds and ends people had managed to scavenge, Karla got dressed, changed the bandage on her neck, and readied to face the day.

Fuck, she could use a coffee.

Emily was bruised all over because she had had enough luggage on her to actually kill someone last day...or had it been less than a day? Her time perception was getting all screwy now.

So while she was very much awake, Emily didn't feel like moving for now.

After finding Kaidan in the baggage room (http://fh-dungeon.livejournal.com/1789.html?thread=367869#t367869), Allie had followed him back to his camp. No offense Camp 2, but with two vampire slayers, the Winchesters, and Karla around, Allie was going to feel a little more comfortable with people that she trusted.

For now she was sitting near the fountain, doing her best to try and clean up.
