Dungeon Residential Camps, Somewhere, Wednesday, Day Two of Two

At Fandom, the sun reached its highest point in the sky. Down (or was it up?) here in the dungeon, a next day broke, each hour occupying the space of only half. It was only noticeable to those with keen senses, or those who might've kept an eye on the fireplaces: the figurines had switched places again as night changed.

Well. It might have also been noticeable to anyone who'd wandered into a room with a sky and a visible sun.

Raven had relocated to this camp the day before, and she hadn't slept at all that night. She wasn't tired, but she wasn't hungry at least. Still, she was keeping to herself for the moment, nervous about all the emotions around her and letting those ignite her hunger.

Natasha returned from her foray into the tunnels wearing a hip holster and boots with her pajamas and carrying a leather satchel with a label reading PUPPET. People could read into that what they wanted, she didn't care.

"Here," she said to whoever was around, tossing the satchel into the middle of the floor. "It's mostly socks, but there are a few other handwavey things in there. Take whatever you want."

Well, Sparkle would definitely take the confidence boost. And the knife. And Alec, if ever he could.

He was smirking, closed-lipped, as he made his way over to Alec, bite-mark on his neck in clear view, hands tucked into the pockets of his pajama pants, and hair hanging in his eyes, because he hadn't had a chance to do anything with it in days.

"Hey. Miss me?" He was so leaning forward for a kiss.

The bite mark went over Alec's head for right now, which was why he leaned in for the kiss. It was only after he pulled away that he remembered to ask, distractedly, "Did you go somewhere?"

Zoe certainly couldn't judge anyone else's bags, especially not when they came bearing gifts. "And here I thought I was going to have to suffer with cold feet," she said with a soft smile. "Thank you for bringing these back. It's good to know there are at least a few useful things to be found out there."

"That's different." Dinah was staring at the little figures, squinting. "I could swear that was a locker when we got here." She made a face at it. "I guess we should be happy the room isn't completely redecorated every time we wake up."

Yesterday Stark had been attacked by luggage. Luggage that had been mocking him. Today Stark was staying put. Perhaps he could find something useful to do here. Or perhaps he would just sit here and quietly freak out. It could go either way, really.

He'd found a spot of wall to crouch against and he wasn't moving. He was just going to wait, for now. Wait and watch and see if an opportunity to distract himself with something useful presented itself.

"Didn't you?" Sparkle exalted in that kiss, a quick flash of warmth against otherwise cold lips. "And you brought presents, too. You spoil me, Alec, you really do."

Cade wasn't really good at expressing concern, so he just pressed his lips together.

"Good," he said finally when it was becoming obvious he should say something. "It'd karking suck if my grandfather killed you."

Natalie wasn't great at receiving other people's concern, so that worked out okay. Somehow.

"Yes. Yes it would." See? "Your face is fine, by the way. It'll heal."

And the cold lips... well, it was a dungeon. Lots of people were cold.

But most of them would have had a heartbeat that Alec could feel while he was kissing them.

"...Sparkle?"

"Will also heal." It would just take a while. The bruise on her hip was pretty spectacular. "Nothing broken."

"Well, who else would it be?" Sparkle's smile had broadened by the time he pulled back, parted lips revealing a fangy grin. "Yesterday was interesting, you know? The people you meet around here, really..."

He continued smirking a moment more, and then, abruptly, his face fell into a pout.

"She bit me, Alec. She offered me death or cake and I didn't even get any cake. How's that for a fucking ripoff?"

"Angel," Alec swore -- and no, it was not a term of endearment at the moment. "You're a vampire. Sparkle, I'm so sorry."

Vampires in Alec's world were law-abiding creatures, for the most part - being turned didn't necessarily constitute a personality change. The transition came with a sun allergy, a thirst for blood and an allergy to religion, sure, but not much else. Alec, then, was under the impression that this situation called for condolences, not pleading to be spared.

Alec was most likely mistaken.

Cade didn't look entirely convinced but he wasn't going to push it. "If you say so."

Natalie rolled her eyes, 'if you say so' being one of those phrases that just sounded like 'I'm not buying it but okay' to her.

"I just have a few impressive bruises. You're free to look them over but I doubt it'll do much."

"It'll impress me with how much of a badass you are," Cade said, "but I know that already."

There were circumstances where Natalie would've at least half smiled at that. But this wasn't it.

The lighting here was dim, but her skin was very pale, so when she rolled the hem of her t-shirt up some, and pulled the waist of her pajama bottoms down a little bit to expose a wide strip of skin, the bruises were obvious. One low on her stomach, a bigger one on her hip.

"They're just a little sore."

"Haven't looked but I doubt it." Because that would just be too convenient, wouldn't it? "I'll deal."

"There doesn't seem to be another option here," Cade agreed.

"Not until we get out of here," Natalie agreed with a nod, covering up her bruises again. "But if we stay smart, we will."

"Well, you're also not dead, so you must still be doing something right."

Good enough.
