Dungeon Residential Camps, Somewhere, Thursday

On the third day (or the fourth, depending on where you were currently huddled), the Toymaker cracked his knuckles and got to work: hallways shifted again, and groups that had been able to interact were cut off again. Gravity grew heavier to make it harder to walk, to run, to find the energy to move around.

The maze shifted again, and those trapped inside would have to see what new surprises awaited them today. The Toymaker wasn't done playing with them, even as their numbers began to dwindle. No, not at all.

"What are you on about?" Richie groaned. "Creepy imprisonment make you go crazy?"

"And now," Oprah said to the audience that totally wasn't really there, "let's welcome my guest, Tom Cruuuuuise!"

That'd be you, Richie. Sorry.

Stark hadn't left the main room since the incident with the luggage. He'd spent rather a lot of time huddled against a wall and muttering to himself. He'd woken up thinking perhaps he might do something a bit more useful today but moving was hard. Everything was hard today. But he'd dealt with heavy gravity before and he could do so again. It just might take a little extra time. Extra time and a lot of extra muttering.

Coulson got up to look at the patch of ground he had been sitting on. "Nothing's there."

Well, Jaina, you managed to get Richie to laugh in spite of his surroundings. So there's that.

"Oh, you've got to be kidding. I'm Richie and I'm way less crazy than Cruise."

Oprah gestured for him to sit, and- whether he sat or not- said, "Let's talk for a moment about your career."

"And now you have this expensive diamond necklace, one of my favorite things!" Oprah announced excitedly.

"Did you seriously find a diamond necklace somewhere?" Coulson asked, heading over toward Jaina.

"I work in an antique shop," Richie said. "And one time I tried to sell used cars. Does that count?"

"And if you look under your seat again, you'll find a brand new copy of the next book in my Book Club!" she continued.

Seriously, Oprah never stopped giving back. EVER.

Oprah listened intently, resting her chin on her hand and occasionally nodding.

"And what about your marriage to Nicole?"

"There wasn't anything there," Coulson noted. "Are you feeling okay?"

"Marriage is unhealthy," Richie declared. "Don't recommend it to anyone!"

Might as well play along with the crazy lady. Maybe this way nobody would get hurt.

"And yet I understand you have a new love," Oprah went on. "How do you feel about Katie?"

"We have with us today, the author of that book!" Oprah continued, and apparently now Coulson was the author. Sorry, Coulson. "Have a seat."

"Honestly?" Richie clearly should have been paying more attention to the tabloids. It would have made answering easier.

"You know, I'm not really that into her."

"If I must," Coulson said, walking over and then taking a seat on the ground. "Which of my books are we talking about?"

"You don't want to express your love by jumping on my couch?" asked Oprah, not dirty.

"Your newest book, out in stores now," said Oprah.

"Of course. Well, thank you for selecting it for your book club. It means a lot to me," Coulson said.

"I'm not even up to standing right now," Richie pointed out. Because standing was way too much work today and he was pretty content to just sit here on the floor for now. "But if you find a couch I'll do my best to jump."

"You're sitting on it," Oprah pointed out subtly.

God, Tom Cruise, couldn't you see that?

Of course he was sitting on the couch. Of course he was. There went that plan.

"I'm gonna need a bigger couch," Richie said quickly. "So I don't hurt myself."

"It means a lot to me, too," said Oprah. "That's why it's one of my favorite thiiiiiiings!"

That wasn't how it worked but whatever.

"Oh, really? Do you have a favorite passage in the book?" Coulson asked. "I'm really curious to know what you like about it."
