Dungeon Residential Camps, Somewhere, Thursday

On the third day (or the fourth, depending on where you were currently huddled), the Toymaker cracked his knuckles and got to work: hallways shifted again, and groups that had been able to interact were cut off again. Gravity grew heavier to make it harder to walk, to run, to find the energy to move around.

The maze shifted again, and those trapped inside would have to see what new surprises awaited them today. The Toymaker wasn't done playing with them, even as their numbers began to dwindle. No, not at all.

The central chamber (http://ic.pics.livejournal.com/endsthegame/15469825/23496/23496_original.png) is dimly lit but light enough to keep out the grues. There is a torch grafted to the wall every few feet, its flames flickering but never going out. A single water fountain rests between two torches. When activated, it releases a thin stream of water. In one corner, there are bags on the floor, varying in size, some big enough to be worn by an adult-sized human.

James found a spot nestled between two torches, looking around for familiar faces. He'd just woken up not long ago, in an unfamiliar place. Well, this explained why the Island seemed a bit sparse over the past few days. At least he was dressed (boxers and t-shirt); Fandom made him soft. From now on, he would sleep fully dressed.

Well, it was hard to move, the daily grind of dungeon crawling was getting to her, and the whole situation was just emotionally brutal.

But you know what? Jessica had a new argyle sweater vest. She didn't usually care for argyle sweater vests, but actually wearing something different and reasonably clean actually made her feel better.

The extra gravitational pull was getting to Gert, even if she personally thought it was psychosomatic.

Her plan had been to explore every day, but maybe waiting until the evening to set out wouldn't be the worst idea. In the meantime, she had her blanket, and she didn't think anyone would judge her if she just huddled under it for most of the day.

Between some of the torches there are little alcoves, just wide enough to fit a single human being lying down.

At the back of the room stands a singular fireplace giving off some heat. On its mantle lies an array of little figurines, shifting day by day. Right now, a squirrel with a tiny rum bottle seemed to be leading the parade.

Torches line these walls - thank god - but in the distance this corridor breaks into two, and then three. There are visible shadows in the distance, and sometimes, an unearthly rattling noise can be heard.

For all that she'd given Buffy crap about needing to loosen up and not try to protect everyone all the time, Kennedy-- who was way irritable by now, in between being out of contact with home, wondering whether Willow was even madder at her now, and whatever the hell was going on with everything being so heavy-- had taken her crossbow and was patrolling the corridor outside her camp, in Big Bad Protective Slayer mode herself.
