The pathways of the dungeon had changed overnight. Anyone who had stayed in a room beyond their welcome had found themselves booted out back onto the hallways that belonged to their camp and feeling pressed down by the sudden increase in gravity. The doors of yesterday had closed. Other doors had now opened.
And other routes.
[ pathways | gremlins | space battles | room of the past | flooded room | free space | strange vault | ooc NOTE: room doors not belonging to your camp will lock when you enter. so please designate whether you're from camp 1 or the joint camp 2/ camp 3 ]

Re: An Aged Door
Date: 2013-04-12 02:20 am (UTC)In the sitting room, a miserable-looking middle-aged couple sat, the woman in her high-necked black dress knitting something out of blue yarn, the man reading a newspaper and smoking a pipe. Not exactly the most terrifying thing in the world, right? And yet.
"No, no, no, not this," Anna begged, but she was already coming down the stairs: another Anna, her dark hair hanging down her back, her shoulders square, her dark eyes sad but triumphant. She was wearing the same white dress Anna always wore, though it looked like it fit her differently, somehow.

Re: An Aged Door
Date: 2013-04-12 02:35 am (UTC)The other Anna didn't move at all. She was breathing quickly, but other than that she seemed completely calm. "Papa loved me," she said softly. "I do not know why you don't."
Beside Tony, Anna was...very much not right. She was quivering like a frightened deer, black veins crawling across her skin, her eyes filled with dirty water. "Please," she said in a horrible voice as the standoff between Anna and her mother continued, "please, we need to go."
Then Anna's mother laughed at Anna's insistence that she was leaving and said, "Elias. Take my daughter up to her room. Get her out of this dress."
Yeah. So this just kept getting worse.

Re: An Aged Door
Date: 2013-04-12 02:47 am (UTC)The memory of Anna tried to flee as Elias started toward her, but he caught her by the arm as her mother looked on with an expression of pleased hatred on her face. She slammed her head into his nose--not hard enough to break it, but hard enough that he let go and she fled toward the back of the house.
"You will not leave this house!" her mother shrieked, chasing after her and grabbing Anna by the hair. "You will never, never leave this house!"
"I will!" Anna shouted, managing to escape her mother only to be confronted with Elias again. As they struggled, her mother went...somewhere. Anna smashed a ceramic pitcher against Elias' head, and he tackled her to the floor in the foyer, hanging on to the backs of her legs as she struggled to get away.
And then Anna's mother came back with the kitchen knife and Anna, the real Anna, the horrible Anna, screamed, "NO!"
Even though it was useless. This had already happened.
The girl in the white dress screamed until she couldn't any more, and the girl in the red dress watched, tears of black water rolling down her face.

Date: 2013-04-12 11:16 pm (UTC)Tony tugged harder, intent on just getting them the hell out of there. Which was, of course, when this place looked less like a Victorian home and more like a private jet. A very familiar private jet.
