Dungeon Residential Camps, Somewhere, Sunday Morning

The dungeon had shifted again overnight.

This time it was different, however: no new corridors were formed, no new rooms were opened. One camp's corridor led into another's led into another's, and from there, a path straight forward towards the vault. It would not be hard now for the Fandomites trapped inside to meet and congregate.

Was the Toymaker making it easy on them? Possible. But not very probable.

Camp Three - Main Space

The central chamber is dimly lit but light enough to keep out the grues. There is a torch grafted to the wall every few feet, its flames flickering but never going out. A single water fountain rests between two torches. When activated, it releases a thin stream of water. In one corner, there are bags on the floor, big enough to be worn by an adult-sized human.

Things seemed to be different today. And so Coulson grabbed some of the water bottles he had retrieved from All & Sundries that first day and started filling them up at the water fountain so that people would have something to drink on their way to whatever (possibly final? but that was just speculation) craziness was coming up.

After yesterday's encounter with ghost Alison, Hanna wasn't sure how much more of these head games she could take. Since it seemed like something was different about today, she hoped finally she'd get her wish and they could all go home soon.

Camp Three - Alcoves

Between some of the torches there are little alcoves, just wide enough to fit a single human being lying down.

The fire was out. The mantle of the fireplace had been destroyed. In fact, there was precious little left. The only significant proof it had ever even been there was the continuing existence of its key.

Well, that wasn't weird or anything.

Alec peered at the wall, wondering if this was a tap-on-the-right-brick-and-the-wall-would-retract kind of situation. Seemed to go with the creepy dungeon theme.

The corridor leading out of the camp was brightly lit, and connected to a larger one. Much like that of all the other camps.

There was only one other possible exit leading out of that main corridor: towards the vault.

Mike stood in the corridor, just outside the camp exit. Just watching, for now.

From here, it looked like they were maybe going to be dealing with less of maze, today. Was that promising? He couldn't decide.

Jaina was ready for another day of going through rooms that'd make her cry later, but stopped when she saw him standing there. "Something wrong?"

Mike scratched the back of his head, glancing over. "I'm not sure," he admitted. "It just... looks different. Like, haven't we usually been able to see it splitting into two or three corridoors from here?"

Jaina frowned, and moved to a better angle to peer down the corridor. "You're right. So I'm guessing they're going to make today interesting."

Or, you know, possibly super difficult, who knew.

"Yeah, because that's exactly what we need. More interesting things." His tone was wry. He was doing pretty well for someone with so mundane a background. "But I guess we don't really have a say in that. So we'll just roll with it."

"It might be a good thing, in a way," Jaina told him. "We've been here long enough, they might be thinking it's time to force a showdown instead of having us run all over the place. We can handle a showdown."

Someone had been in Fandom a long damn time. Could you tell?

Mike definitely could. He was deciding to find that reassuring.

"So I've heard." His own experience was too little to go on. "Think it'll be bad?"

"Oh, yeah. If the last... however long we've been here is the prelude, it's going to be tough." Especially when everyone had been going on very little sleep or food and people had started cracking by now. "It'll be okay. We've lasted this long."

"Yeah. And you'd think trying to get back home will make people pull themselves together." Because yeah. Some people had been cracking, he'd noticed. "If that's what's going to happen."
