The first day had been eminently entertaining - but the Toymaker was already growing bored. He reached in and tweaked the strings of his tiny universe, adding subtle changes: speeding up time, moving hallways. One of the two might be more noticeable than the other, but he looked forward to seeing if Fandom's finest felt the time discrepancy.
He split this day in two. Bound the pathways of the first and second camps together. And sat back.
The maze changed. That was what it was built to do. Its denizens would just have to find ways to cope with it.

"Thanks, luv. Any news on your end?"

"So. Good for gathering seaweed. Not much else, though." She bit into the orange slices she'd hoarded, and rubbed her eyes. "Raven's turning into a vampire?" Well, shit. "That's... horrific. Is that a thing? Do we have to worry about that happening to everyone? Like getting eaten like the pony did?" Slowing down might make her make more sense, but probably not by much.

He wasn't going to say as much aloud.

Date: 2013-04-10 10:37 pm (UTC)"Okaaaay. Maybe put a sign on that door. Here Be Bloodsuckers." Dinah was getting a little more awake as the sugar from the orange worked its way into her system, and grimaced as she realized what she'd blurted out. "On my way back, last night. I saw the pony talking to someone, or something, in the shadows. Annnnd then it slurped her up like a vacuum cleaner and just-- nothing."

Date: 2013-04-10 10:44 pm (UTC)"So there are things out in the corridors as well." His expression went a little more dour than it had been a moment ago. A little more solemn. "Things that eat people."
Because, insane though she was, Pinkie still counted as 'people.'
"This bodes worse and worse, the more we find out about what's going on."

"If the passages weren't so bloody dark, I'd suggest marking th'walls with charcoal. It's not a optimal solution, not if anyone's torches go out, but at least it's better than nothing."

Date: 2013-04-10 11:17 pm (UTC)Best plan? He'd kind of grabbed them on impulse, since they'd been in the DATED DEATH bag.

Date: 2013-04-10 11:25 pm (UTC)Jono had serious nightmare issues. Ones that he didn't fess up to terribly often. But warning more people about them than just Karla probably couldn't hurt, lest he cause a panic by waking up, screaming.

Date: 2013-04-10 11:34 pm (UTC)"I don't know how long the maps will stay relevant. The corridors did change up last night. But if people on their first go through the maze in the mornings document where the dangers are and pass it on, by the end of the day, presumably, we should have slightly fewer casualties."
Or, at least, that was the hope.

Date: 2013-04-10 11:44 pm (UTC)It... seemed simple enough to him, at least. But then, he was running on a slice of orange and half a banana, and no sleep in days.
